How it works

A game is something you learn. And learn again.

Between two games, the rules fade a little, and that's perfectly normal: a board game is dozens of small rules, exceptions and icons.

A rulebook is there to say everything, not always to make everything clear. BoardgameWise takes over: it shows you the game in action, then helps you remember it.

Learn

Your first game, with a guide

The guided game replays the setup and the first turns on a simplified board. At each step, you take the action yourself: place a piece, pick a card, answer a question.

  • Each rule comes up right when you need it.
  • Strategic choices are explained, with no wrong answer.
  • Solo or multiplayer: you play every seat.

Revise

Get it all back before you play

The rules sheet goes through the game section by section, in the order you learn it: setup, a turn, the end of the game. A short quiz after each section checks it has sunk in.

  • An overview, a glossary and the turn sequence.
  • Solo and two-player rules, kept apart.
  • A few minutes before the game are enough.

Understand

That tricky rule, finally clear

Some rules make more sense when you see them. The guided game plays them out on the board, and every step points to the matching rulebook page.

  • The official rulebook, page by page, always beside you.
  • Explanations that tell you why, not just what.
  • The rulebook in your language when there is one.
